Metgod Stars In Charity Match

John Metgod will roll back the years on Friday evening, with the Pompey first team coach taking part in a charity game at Westleigh Park. The game will raise funds for Havant Waterlooville’s academy captain Jack ‘Fudge’ Farrugia, who is in a coma after being involved in a car crash in November. He has recently been transferred to a rehabilitation centre in Bath where he will receive specialist treatment. Metgod will turn out for the Hawks All-Stars team – which will also include Havant Waterlooville boss and former Blues defender Shaun Gale – against the Hawks Academy. And the former Tottenham and Nottingham Forest star is looking forward to getting back on the pitch. “I’m happy to help,” said Metgod. “It’s always nice to be able to help people and it’s the least I can do. “It’s nice for me at 50 to still be able to play football and I’m looking forward to the match.” Admission for the match – which kicks-off at 7.45pm – is by donation.
