Ashdown Back For Reserves
Posted on March 24th, 2009 by Pompey
Pompey Reserves field a strong line up at Havant Waterlooville’s Westleigh Park tonight when they entertain Fulham (7pm kick-off).
Home fans will get their first glimpse of January signing Pele whose only other appearance came at Brentford against Chelsea Reserves last month.
There is also a return for goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown, who plays his first game since the home reserve meeting with Aston Villa in October following a lengthy lay off with an ankle injury.
Linvoy Primus, Noe Pamarot, Richard Hughes, John Utaka and Arnold Mvuemba are all included in the squad.
Primus played in the reserve side that defeated Stoke 1-0 with a late Danny Bogard goal at the Britannia Stadium last Tuesday.
Pompey will have it all to do against a Fulham side they defeated 3-1 at Motspur Park in the first game of the season back in September with goals from Noe Pamarot, Gael Nlundulu and Kanu.
Since that opening day defeat Fulham’s reserve side have lost just twice, winning their last four games in which they have scored 10 goals and let in none.
Fulham are currently second in the Barclays Premier League Reserve League South Table, eleven points behind leaders Aston Villa. Pompey are eighth.
