Great Duo, No Kidding

Organisation and experience.
They are the two qualities of Pompey’s management team that Jamie Ashdown believes will secure Premier League survival.
Since Paul Hart and Brian Kidd took charge, the Blues have lost just once in five games – a narrow defeat to title-chasing Chelsea.
Home victories against Manchester City and Everton, along with hard-fought draws at Stoke and Middlesbrough, have seen Pompey move three points clear of the drop zone.
The results have left Ashdown feeling Pompey are definitely moving in the right direction.
“The boys have all gelled together under the new management,” said the 28-year-old keeper. “We’re playing really well at the moment.
“There’s definitely great belief here now. I think you could see that from the moment that Paul Hart stepped in.
“The players have responded to the organisation and experience of him and Brian Kidd.
“They’ve kept things simple and haven’t chopped and changed too much and that appears to be working.
“All we have to worry about is staying up and we’re taking steps towards that.
“You can never be surprised in the Premier League because it’s a very tough division. But hopefully we can keep getting results and get out of the danger area.”
Ashdown is back in training after being sidelined with an ankle injury and played for the reserves in their 2-2 draw with Fulham last week.
“It’s fantastic to be back,” he said. “It was three months since I last played, so it’s good to be back in the fold.
It’s frustrating when you’re injured but you just have to be professional, get through it and try to keep as fit as possible.
“I had a little setback when we were in Dubai but it’s been good the last week and I felt fine after the reserve game.
“I think we all know who the number one keeper is here. Jamo’s a great keeper and you can learn from him, but he’s not going to be around forever.
“The important thing for a number two keeper is to be ready.”
