Boateng: Fans Have A Huge Part To Play

Kevin-Prince Boateng believes the fans can help Pompey turn their form around.
The Blues are bottom of the Premier League after losing their first four games.
But since being narrowly defeated by Manchester City in their last outing, eight new players have been added to the squad.
One of those arrivals was Boateng, who joined from Tottenham in a four-year deal.
The 22-year-old midfielder hopes that the new crop of players can get off to a good start when Bolton visit the south coast on September 12.
And he believes that a noisy Fratton Park can help them pick up three points.
“The fans are crazy,” said Boateng. “I was at the Manchester City game and even when the team weren’t playing well they were still screaming and supporting them.
“At Spurs they sometimes had a bit of a moan if the team weren’t playing well but that doesn’t happen here.
“The fans are similar to how they were when I was at Dortmund. They had about 80,000 fans every game, though.
“If you had that many fans in Fratton Park I think the stadium would break because they make so much noise.
“We’re all looking forward to the Bolton game because it’s a chance to get on the pitch and hopefully get some points.
“I know it’s been a bad start but I think we will go up the table.
“We know that we are under pressure but we’re professionals so we have to handle that.
“We just have to think about winning games – that’s the most important thing.”
Boateng also believes that Paul Hart’s signings have infused Pompey’s squad with class.
He said: “We’ve got a lot of quality players and a lot of experience. We’ve also got players who are hungry.
“We’ve got a few new players in the side and we need to stick together and win some games.”
