Brown’s Plea To Fans
Posted on September 24th, 2009 by Pompey
Michael Brown believes the Blues fans can help Pompey turn around their poor early-season form.
Around 600 supporters made the marathon trek to Carlisle on Tuesday and were rewarded with a 3-1 victory.
Now Brown wants Fratton Park to become a fortress again, so sides fear coming to the south coast.
The midfielder said: “We’ve got to all stay together. Portsmouth is known for being a very intimidating place and that’s what we’ve got to create.
“The fans who came to Carlisle on Tuesday night were fantastic and we need that to continue.”
Brown believes it is premature to talk about a battle for Premier League survival, even though Pompey are still searching for their first points.
He said: “Things can change so quickly in football and it’s too early to judge anything at the moment.
“There’s a long way to go and we’ve got to stay positive.
“All we can do is go out on the pitch and do our best and a win on Saturday would be a big boost.”
